What is a wearable fan?
Although there is a possibility of others, all the wearable fans I have seen look like headphones in shape and go around your neck.
These fans go around your neck and when turned on they blow air upwards (as long as you put them on the correct way) towards your head. This gives a close-quarter airflow to cool you down.
The obvious thought is they need to be bladeless because if fitting around your neck any spinning blades would hit you. Like other bladeless fans, we say bladeless as there are no external visible blades pushing air, they are all hidden away inside the unit.
These fans can even be used by the elderly or children.
The wearable fan design
The wearable fan design is very simple. The unit consists of a battery, motor and other electronics. The fans themselves are usually made from soft rubber so as not to be too uncomfortable to wear and can be easily worn around the neck for long periods of time.
The fans have small blades inside them that spin when powered on producing an airflow that is directed upwards towards your head.
